Representatives from St. Tikhon's University speak at the 16th Alexander Conference in Helsinki
Tatiana Krihtova and reader Kirill Aleksin, two faculty members from St. Tikhon´s University, spoke at the annual conference on Russian Studies in the Finnish capital. This international forum gathers researchers and experts in the social sciences, law, and economics at the University of Helsinki in autumn. The event was organized by the Aleksanteri Institute and the Centre of Excellence in Russian Studies Choices –Russian Modernisation. The theme of the year for 2016 was “Life and Death in Russia”. The reports by Mr. Aleksin and Ms. Krihtova were presented within the section “Church and Local Community” on the 2nd of October. Mr. Aleksin gave a talk on the theme “Fathers’ Families: Spiritual Guides and Spiritual Succession in Russian Parishes”, about the pastoral traditions and networks which emerged in Russia in the 20th century. Ms. Krihtova delivered the report “Time-Budget of a Modern Russian Orthodox Priest”, which presented the results of the project "Methods of pastoral action: analysis of priests’ time budgets”.
