Polina Cherakaeva, a Masters student of the Department of Germanic Philology of the Faculty of Philology at Saint Tikhons University, presented at the Lomonosov International Conference of undergraduate students, post-graduates, and research fellows.

According to tradition, from April 10-14, 2017, the Twenty-fourth Lomonosov International Conference of undergraduate students, post-graduates, and research fellows took place in Moscow State University. Polina Cherakaeva, a Masters student in the Department of Germanic Philology at Saint Tikhons University, took part in the conference with a paper on Particular Aspects of the Interpretation of Gospel Motifs in the Old English Poem Crist. The paper was given in the category Philology, sub-category Literature and the Written Word.

Cherakaevas paper was dedicated to the plot structure of the Old English narrative poem Crist. The author examined the main images and devices in the poem. The presenter remarked that, when it comes to the Gospel events of the Nativity of Christ and the Ascension, the center of the poets attention is not the plot of these events: he focuses instead on deeper Christological questions. The paper drew the attention of the attendees and raised interesting questions. Within her category, Polina Cherakaeva received one of five Best Paper awards for her work.
