St. Tikhon’s Orthodox University (STOU) considers the developing of international scholarly contacts as one of the priority trends of its activity. These contacts help to improve quality of higher education in the University, allow the students to obtain all new information about theological science in the world. All students learn foreign languages. At these classes they not only acquire necessary speech habits, but also elaborate skills of working with scientific literature on the chosen subject. St. Tikhon’s University maintains close cooperation with foreign universities, secular and religious (Orthodox, Catholic and Protestant).

In the framework of international cooperation professors and students take part in a huge amount of scientific activities. Students and postgraduates of our University have opportunity to work on probation and prepare their diploma works in universities and libraries abroad. Foreign students, who come to STOU, study the Russian language, modern Orthodox Theology, icon painting, history of the Russian Orthodox Church. Professors of foreign universities deliver lectures in STOU, while our professors come out with the cycles of lectures in other countries.

The Annual Theological Conference in STOU gathers competent experts of Theology, Philosophy, History and other humanities from different countries. The experience of conducting the double-sided student Theological conferences is interesting. The students of STOU and young theologians from other countries may meet and discuss some up-to-date scientific problems.
